Program
Description
The proposed line of R&D activity is oriented towards educational technologies for the creation of virtual learning simulators based on conversational assistants.
The initiative is fully framed in the digitalization of services and specifically in the digitalization of educational services with initial application in the field of healthcare.
Educational technologies encompass a broad spectrum of knowledge and applications that focus on effectively integrating technological tools into the educational environment. This field is not only oriented to the implementation of solutions through digitalization but also promotes a paradigm shift in the conceptualization of teaching. This change is manifested in several key dimensions of the educational process, highlighting the importance of the personalization of learning, universal access to knowledge, and the development of essential skills for the 21st century. These crucial elements demonstrate the relevance of integrating digital technologies in education.
The transition to the digital age is profoundly reshaping the educational landscape, especially in the creation and distribution of increasingly rich and interactive learning resources. In this context, simulated virtual systems make it possible to improve the accessibility and availability of educational media, and thus, for example in the field of health, to reduce the risk of errors in the learning phases in front of patients. These systems have advanced enormously, evolving from simple systems that reproduce particular and previously defined conditions to solutions that, incorporating artificial intelligence, come closer to being able to reproduce adaptive and realistic situations.
Thus, the technological opportunity to be seized in the educational field refers to the new tools available, especially machine learning models and LLMs (Large Language Models) and natural language processing (NLP or natural language processing) techniques.
In order to achieve the general objective, the following specific objectives have been defined:
- SO1. Analyze available artificial intelligence tools applicable to a conversational assistant environment.
- SO2. Define the functionalities of a pilot experimental system.
- SO3. Establish the technological and service architecture to optimize the efficiency of the platform and facilitate its interoperability.
- SO4. Develop a prototype digital simulator.
- SO5. Validate the functioning of the implemented prototype.
