He was a professor of Aquaculture at the Nautical-Fishing School of Santander, and a veterinarian at the Cantabria Livestock Department. He has also worked in Livestock Sanitation campaigns with the company Servetcansa, was an agricultural advisor at the Nestlé factory in La Penilla, was head of the Nestlé dairy district, and as of 2001, is head of dairy procurement at Nestlé Spain.
