Has coached several national swimming teams and has been part of research teams at EMU and the Gasol Foundation. Has written several scientific publications in the field of physical activity and health. Has created a company specialized in physical exercise for the elderly and has written business projects related to physical exercise and health.

D. in Biology from the Max Planck Institute for Cell Biology and Genetics at the University of Dresden. He has published the results of some of his research in prestigious journals such as JCS, Current Biology and Genome Research. He was awarded the Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) fellowship and the Marie-Curie fellowship. His research interests have been in cell structure, the nervous system and hereditary cancer.
