Teacher Training and Innovation Plan

Body

The European University of the Atlantic, attentive to the profound changes in the knowledge of 21st century society and the new teaching role that emerges from these changes, is committed to the permanent training of its teaching staff.

Currently, the University works on a Teacher Training and Innovation Plan that covers three main areas:

  • Lifelong learning
  • Teaching innovation and knowledge transfer
  • Staff mobility

In accordance with the strategic plan of the University and the philosophy of learning to learn, UNEATLANTICO offers its teachers training related to new methodologies, online teaching tools and to specific aspects of different areas of knowledge. Since the beginning of its academic activities, lectures, courses and workshops have been given to provide the teaching staff with updates and specific training that contributes to the permanent improvement of their own practice.

The production and constant update of didactic contents, as well as the commitment to research and the transfer of relevant knowledge to society, are the pillars of teaching innovation on which UNEATLÁNTICO is based on. Through its own Investigation and Technology Centre of Cantabria (CITICAN), teachers participate in research and development projects in different areas of knowledge that are complementary to each other, in a process of constant feedback between their own training and the permanent improvement of the teaching processes in the University.

On the staff mobility, European University of the Atlantic seeks to have the support of the ERASMUS+ program, a mobility program that aims to promote exchange and academic cooperation between teachers and students from different countries. As of the academic year 2018-2019, one of the purposes of the European University of the Atlantic is to intensify the process of internationalization of the University based on projects that link the teaching staff from different European universities and other continents.
